Getting a sim card with Airbnb and Optus in Australia

I am heading to Australia later in the year and just booked a place on Airbnb. Something that just popped up that I'd like to share with you is this pretty cheap deal to get a sim card to use in Australia.

500MB of data each day, unlimited standard national talk and text for $2 AUD a day.

That is pretty reasonable and useful so that one can use Uber taxi service and google maps to get around.

Here's more details below if you're interested in exploring them further.

GET A BONUS $2 DAY WITH AIRBNB

Purchase your Prepaid Mobile SIM at a participating Yes Optus airport store when you land

Optus (part of the Singtel Group) and Airbnb welcome you to Australia with an Optus Prepaid Mobile SIM for only $10, along with a bonus $2 day on My Prepaid Daily Plus. My Prepaid Daily Plus is perfect for your stay, with a massive 500MB of data each day and unlimited standard national talk and text for just $2 a day. And with this special offer only for Airbnb customers, you'll get 6 $2 days for the price of 5!

All for use in Australia. Days end at 11.59pm

NITTY GRITTY details to keep in mind

Fair Go policy applies. For more info, see our Critical Information Summaries which can be found at optus.com.au/cis or pick one up in store.

Limit of 2 $10 Prepaid SIMs per Airbnb booking reservation number.

Guest must be residing outside Australia and book a stay at an Airbnb property located in Australia to qualify for the offer.

MY PREPAID DAILY PLUS

The $2 Daily Level is charged on the first outbound standard national call, SMS, MMS, Voicemail or data use each day. Some phones and applications are set to seek and use data automatically, and this will cause the Daily Level to be charged. Please check your phone settings. If you use more than the included data in the $2 Daily Level we’ll auto bump you with an extra 524MB data for $2 to a max. of $4/1GB for the day.
